President: Stacey MacLeod (Rep 3)
Stacey has been practicing Massage Therapy for 12 years and has worked all over the
Maritimes as a self-employed RMT. Stacey has recently moved to Moncton, NB, and has been working at
the Salisbury Chiropractic and Rehab Clinic and continues to treat her island clients. When she is
not working she enjoys the New Brunswick outdoors with her partner Justin and their 2 German
Shepherds Jack & Frank. Stacey served on the PEIMTA board as a General Board Member
and is now the President and CMTA Representative. She is passionate about educating the public about the importance of Massage Therapy, its benefits and the importance of overall body wellness. She hopes with the new changes to the board’s roles she can focus more energy on bringing courses to Island RMTs and building the PEIMTA into a strong robust
organization where all Island therapists have a sense of community and belonging.

Member at Large: Erika Murphy (Rep 1)
Erika Murphy graduated from Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in 2015. She fell in love with the profession right away. Erika is very passionate about helping people live the best pain-free or pain-reduced life that they can. She works full-time at Spa 225 in Kinkora.
When I’m not working She enjoys being active outside all year round with friends and family. Since joining the board she can’t wait to see where Massage Therapists will be in the future; growing on this small island as a community.
Member at Large: Carley Garvock (Rep 2)
Carley was born and raised in the small town of Berwick, Nova Scotia. She moved to Prince Edward Island in 2019 after graduating from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax. Although she misses her small town and family, she feels very fortunate to be working and living in PEI.
Member at Large: Laura Dear, (Rep 4)
Laura graduated from ICT Northumberland College in 1999 and has been practicing in Charlottetown ever since. She has been partnered with Michele Moore at Atlantic Therapeutic Massage since 2001 and has specialized in TMJ for about 12 years. Still, her real passion is for assessing and managing clients with lymphedema. Laura started her Vodder training in 2019 but couldn't finish until 2021 because no courses were available during Covid. Laura does a lot of MLD for pre and post-surgery and general health but those with lymphedema need lifetime management. Laura is also a custom compression fitter and can recommend the right compression for their needs. Laura loves her work and gets real satisfaction when her clients get a lymph fluid reduction and her clients have learned how to manage themselves.
Member at Large: Josephine Clements, (Rep 5)
Josephine started her journey as an RMT in 2003 as my disabled daughter needed massage. She is constantly learning as she is involved in the medical field in many ways and works with over 60 Doctors. She believes in trying to help others through Massage by educating her clients and others about what they can do to change what is happening to their bodies.Josephine loves seeing the life-changing transformations when they understand and learn how to protect their bodies.
Executive Director: Elise Taplay Ryan (Non-Board Member Position)
Elise has served on the Board of the PEIMTA as Treasurer since April 2017 with additional Membership Coordinator responsibilities added in March 2019 when a vacancy occurred due to the College of Massage Therapists of PEI being formed. She has also worked continuously as the Website Coordinator since 2019. After 6 years on the board, she stepped down to take on the role of Executive Director., where she will continue to support the board doing the membership, website, and treasurer duties.
Elise arrived in PEI transferring her RMT Registration in June 2014. She opened up Just For You Massage Therapy near Basin Head in Kingsboro and is the farthest east-serving RMT in the province. She specializes in deep tissue massage to alleviate pain and help control PTSD symptoms. A big believer in self-care for clients she provides knowledge and referrals to other health professionals when a person arrives with issues outside of her scope of practice. She is a direct communicator who believes that her clients want honesty, openness, empathy, and skill from their RMT.
Elise began her massage career in Stoney Creek, ON in 2006. She is a former police officer who worked as a CP Rail Constable for 13 years in Toronto, prior to becoming an RMT. She owned The Natural Health Clinic; in Ontario. She brings knowledge of good business practices and reports writing to her position with the PEIMTA Board.
Before joining the PEIMTA Board, Elise volunteered in Ontario, with the Hamilton Out of the Cold Program for 16 years, supervising volunteers in the kitchen and preparing meals for up to 120 people in an evening. Currently, she volunteers at Souris Kids.
She has a passion for service and a big heart for all things breathing life. Elise will continue serving both her RMT and her home community, in whatever capacity she is needed for as long as she is able.
